Russell Diaz Obituary

Russell Gordan Diaz, 64, of Newton, Kan., formerly of Fort Madison, passed away at 9:49 p.m. on June 9, 2021 at Paramount Community Living in Newton, Kansas.

He was born Aug. 7, 1956 to Gordon F. and Shirley A. Crull Breen. He was later adopted by Jose S. Diaz Sr.

He was a 1974 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He enjoyed painting, Elvis Presley, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one sister, Debbie Ratzlaff of Moundridge Kan.; one brother, Bob (Tammy) Diaz of Moundridge, Kan.; one sister-in-law, Jessica Diaz of New London. He had five nephews, Ron (Cate) Sharp, Nathan (Amy Hamilton) Sharp, Micheal McCombs, Jordan(Kelsey Skender) Diaz, and Jonah (Samantha Crowell) Diaz; three neices, Laura (Brock) Delaney, Jennifer Epstein, and Nicole Rouser; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, adoptive father, and youngest brother, Joe S. Diaz Jr.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home in Wichita Kansas. King Lynk Funeral Home will assist with the family's needs in Iowa with burial in Oakland Cemetery. The family will have a private burial at a later date.
