Upon leaving TUSAFB, I began a teaching career that covered 37 years in the public schools, and ownership of a Missouri Licenced Day Care and Pre-School for 6 years (85-91) Mary and I sold. When I entered the FB in 1968, I had graduated from Wichita State University with a BME. While teaching, I secured from Central Missouri State University, an MA (Music Theory/Composition) studying with Walter Halen, and an ES (Secondary Principalship). I taught in the Raymore Peculiar Schools, Kansas City Kansas School District, and the Hickman Mills School District. I taught Band, Orchestra, and Music Theory/Composition, with partnerships with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. I am now retired, but sub teach and volunteered with the West Peculiar Fire Protection District for 17 years, retiring in Feb. 2019, when my son, the Fire Chief, also retired.
