Fort Payne High School
Class Of 1980 |
|
Welcome to the Fort Payne High School Class of 1980 web site. This site is for our classmates to stay in touch with each other. Please take the time to enter your information and also to add pictures of you and your family.
After some discussion before the 35-year reunion, we have decided that we will not renew this website when renewal fees are due in April of 2016. Now is a good time to jot down addresses, etc., of those you would like to remain in touch with. Also, take a look at the photos that have been posted here. Going forward, we will use Facebook and word of mouth to let you know about the next reunion and important news concerning classmates. Additionally, we are looking for volunteers to help organize and plan the 40-year reunion. Please contact Jackie Bufford Careathers, Beth Chitwood Thomas, or Chris Morgan if you are interested.
** In case you did not receive an email about the 35-year reunion (maybe your address has changed), it will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Kamama Restaurant in Mentone. If you are on Facebook, you can go to the Fort Payne High School Class of 1980 page and see all the details.
I hope those of you who attended the 30- year reunion enjoyed it as much as I did. It was great to see everyone, and the Lebanon Courthouse was beautiful. We have a few pictures posted, and anyone else who took pictures is welcome to add them. Thanks so much to Ramona Akins for the idea to have our reunion there, and thanks to she and Beth Thomas for arriving at 2:00 to decorate and set up. And thanks to Chris Morgan for helping plan, organize, and lead our event, and to he and Leslie for helping set up the outdoor area. And the band was great, too. Thanks, Beth, for finding them for us. I left a little before 11:00, so whoever helped Beth and Ramona with the cleanup, thank you so much! And can't forget to thank Jay Ham for the great food. It was wonderful.
Your answers to the Class Reunion Survey will be very helpful in planning future reunions. Thank you for taking the time to fill it out. Based on the results so far, the majority wants to continue having reunions every 5 years, and to keep them in the Ft. Payne area.
This web site will continue to be active at least until our next reunion, so keep after those who haven't joined us yet to at least try it out. Let's all keep in touch!
