Zaneis – Funeral Services for Mr. Erman Chriss Bural, 80, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday Oct. 22, 2010 at the Zaneis First Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Chriss was born April 11, 1930 to the late Mr. Charles Erman Bural and Mrs. Tressie May (Willis) Bural. He departed this life Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at Oklahoma City, OK.
Chriss had been a longtime resident of this area, residing here ever since he was 4yrs old when he and his family moved here from Texas to a farm north of the Orr community. He attended school at Zaneis and graduated High School from there in 1947 as the class valedictorian. He and the former Ms. Wanda Jean Lawrence were united in marriage Feb. 19, 1949 at Gainesville, TX. Chriss attended college at several schools , achieving his Masters Degree in Education. He taught business for many years, as well as being a counselor, coach, and science teacher before he became the Ringling Public School Superintendent in 1970. He held that administrative position until he retired in 1991. He was also a 2nd generation Rancher and Cattleman, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Zaneis Baptist Church.
His parents, Mr. Charles Erman Bural and Mrs. Tressie May Bural and brother, Benjamin Granville “Ben” Bural preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife, Wanda of the home; Daughters, Christy Osborne and husband Bill of Norman, and Karen Bryant and husband Jerry also of Norman; Sons, Jerry Bural and wife Mary of Piedmont, OK, Alan Bural and wife Anita of Norman, and Randall Bural and wife Gayla of Lee’s Summit, MO. Grandchildren, Kenda Potts, Grant Bural, David Bural, Daniel Bural, Charley Bural, Leycan Jones, and Nick Bural. Great Grandchildren, Makenzie Potts, Macy Potts, and Isaac Bural. Numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers are John Stanton, Don Lewis, Allen Wade, Brad Vance, Daniel Kinard, and Gary Whitener.
Honorary Bearers are Jerry Dillard, Randy Howard, Jack Hagood, Val Cantwell, Jr., Cartez Allen and Jake Wade.
Family visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Wilson.
