Lord, I reckon I'm not much just by myself,
I fail to do a lot of things I ought to do.
But Lord, when trails are steep and passes high,
Help me ride it straight the whole way through.

And when in the falling dusk I get that final call,
I do not care how many flowers they send,
Above all else, the happiest trail would be,
For You to say to me, "Let's ride, My Friend."

Amen

I have many fond memories of Bonnie (BoBo). During high school, Bonnie, Josh, Dale and I were always up to something in Dales 58 Impala. After I got out of the service, Bonnie and I drove an old KW for bill randalman hauling everything from cross ties to salt. We had a near death experience west of Socorra coming down the mountain with the brown light hung in over, we had a load of cattle from Quemado heading to Clovis. Bill had told us not to come off that mountain in 5th and over. Bonnie was driving and I was in the sleeper, I heard the engine screaming and got up only to find us heading down the mountain with the speedometer pegged out, tach going crazy and the pyrometer way too high, the borrowed trailer had no brakes and the grease on the tractor hubs was catching on fire, I was standing on the running board telling him when the fire was out so that he could apply more brakes. The cattle coul smell the smoke and were very restless and shifting around. We rode down that mountain and finall got stopped a block from old town where a truck wont fit. We wre leaning against the truck wringing wet with sweat ( November) when we noticed that the right front tire was going flat. We eventually got the cattle to Clovis and never told Bill that we had come off the mountain in 5th and over, he said that you couldn't do it, well Bonnie and I did. Bonnie was an usher in my wedding in Morton,TX . Sarah and her family got a kick out of BoBo and his wit. He wrote "Shees the boss" on my pickup which I tried to erase as soon as possible. Bonnie contacted me through classmates and I replied only to find out that he had died much earlier. A good friend and will be missed greatly.
