Went to UF and got a degree in Fire and EMS Management (I was an EMT), then I came to TN to be a whitewater raft guide. I had finally found my passion in life. I also met Joseph, the love of my life, who is also a raft guide. After a couple of years I decided that I needed a 'real job' (cause there is no money in rafting). The only 'real job' I could think of in which I could still raft was teaching. So I went to ETSU and got a mathematics degree. I just graduated and I begin my first year teaching this fall. Yeah!
Along the way, I did a semester in Patagonia with NOLS and rode my bicycle from Seattle to D.C. and worked backcounty patrol in Zion National Park in UT.
P.S. If anyone comes to Gatlinburg, TN and decides to go whitewater rafting...go with the rafting company 'Big Creek Expeditions', I will be there! You can even request me as your guide...If your feeling frisky, that is!
