Does anyone else remember?  Mr. Lobitz would often lean over, point is right arm to the door, lift his left leg and say, "Hey fella, you're gonna be out on your ear!"

Don, I don't remember that one, (probably because he never said it to ME!) I do remeber "Call a spade a spade and not a garden implement" That was a classic-still use it today on my kids and grandkids. They just look at me with question marks in their eyes. Mr. Lobitz was one of a kind. I loved that man. He would let me turn in extra credit reports to improve my grade-believe me it needed it!

I guess he never said that to me...what I do remember is his lively description of the Congress and how hard he

tried to get the information into our uninterested heads.  But give me a break here - he was last hour for me and my interest was toward getting outside!!

Mr. Lobitz often spoke the "Call a spade" phrase about the time he grabbed the swatter from inside his podium and began swinging at imaginary flies.

Mr. Lobitz must be the one who stood out the most,  I remember his "Someone shut the door so none of this gets out" saying.  I think he said it at the beginning of every class.

Donna,

You beat me to it-that's the one I remember also.

Also, it seems I remember him putting his hand to his mouth like a megaphone saying " hey fella"

It seems that at the time didn't appreciate his antics were dumb, maybe it was just his way to get through the day.  I wonder how he would be received today.
