Jim Reinking

Jim Reinking, 79, of Fort Wayne passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.  Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 24, 1943, he was a son of the late Harry and Helen (Roesener) Reinking.  Jim was a graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School and served in the United States Army Reserves.  He was a dedicated Police Officer for the city of Fort Wayne for over 33 years.  After retiring from the force Jim worked Security for the Prosecutors office and the Allen County Superior court.  He was a member for St. Paul's Lutheran Church for over 30 years and also a member of the FOP for 50 years.  Jim enjoyed fixing things, going to truck shows, farming, smoking cigars, and fires, but most of all spending time with his family.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Suzi Reinking; son, Andy (Kristen) Reinking; grandchildren, Chandler and Casey Reinking; sister, Jan Hand; and brothers, Harold (Jana) and Richard Reinking.  He was also preceded in passing by his sister, Linda Reinking.  A funeral service was held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1126 South Barr Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802 with visitation beginning at 9:00 am.  Burial to follow the service at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Contributions in Jim's memory may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund.  (Candid photo was edited from a 60th class reunion picture taken September 25, 2021, by Gwen Knipstein.  Formal picture is from the obituary.)
