Sharon was one of my first friends even before Bethlehem grade school - we lived across the alley from one another when the Clark residence was on South Hanna Street and Sharon and older sister Carol occupied a house facing Monroe Street.  We rode the city bus to Kindergarten together with classmate Steve Sprunger (†).  Sharon was my last link to those earliest childhood memories before I moved nearer to Bethlehem when we were in grade 4.  The oldest picture I have which I took myself is one of Sharon in front of her house.  That photo is on this web site in the Pictures from the Past section.   From about that same time, age 7 perhaps, I recall a neighborhood birthday party where Sharon and I played Pin the Tail on the Donkey.  She and Carol once rescued me from being locked in a shack that older neighborhood boys built on an empty lot two doors from Sharon’s house.  We couldn’t always agree on playing:  I wanted to play with guns but Sharon and Carol preferred dolls.  Since the play room was in their home, there’s little doubt about the outcome.  For those who remember the 1958 Sectional championship game in which CLHS lost to South Side (eventual state champs), the 7 foot tall South Side center, Mike McCoy (up against CLHS’s 6’ 7” Al Buuck), was a next door neighbor to Sharon.  She was perhaps unique in our CLHS class, as she had at least 3 classmates who were relatives.  Diane Ferber is a cousin on her mother’s side.  I can’t recall the other two.  I certainly miss Sharon and remembering with her the old neighborhood near Weisser Park.  Rest eternal grant unto her, O Lord, and may light perpetual shine upon her.   /s/  Lee Clark

I am one of her cousin's.  We had fun rememising at our class reunions and always said we needed to get together more often.  Her family would come to Hoagland for reunions and sometimes she came over for play time.   We also talked about our senior year when a group of us from Concordia who went down to visit with her over spring break.  I have loving memories of Sharon.
