Mary's Obituary

Mary Kathleen Davis, 84, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:16 pm, Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in La Fontaine.  She was born on March 5, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Rupert W. and Agnes M. (Morrison) Watson.

Mary was a 1958 graduate of Fort Wayne South Side High School, received her bachelor's degree from Ball State University in 1962, and her Masters' Degree from Indiana University. She married John W. Davis in Fort Wayne on August 3, 1963. Mary taught 4th and 5th grade at Southwood Elementary School, retiring after several years. She was a member of Wabash Friends Church and enjoyed quilting and reading.  

She is survived by her husband, John W. Davis of Wabash; three children, Stephanie "Taffy" (Kevin) Flynn of Springboro, Ohio, Judith "Jodie" (Cory) Arendt of Huntington Beach, California, and Mike (Angie) Davis of Lafayette, Indiana; five grandchildren, Alex Davis of Louisville, Kentucky, Alivia Davis of Lafayette, Taylor (Amir) Farsakh of Greenville, South Carolina, Sophia Arendt and Garrett Arendt, both of Huntington Beach; and her sister, Joyce (Norman) Beck of Muncie, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Thomas Watson and Robert Watson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Wabash Friends Church, 3563 S. State Road 13, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Friends may call Monday, August 12, 2024, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.  

Preferred memorial is Wabash Friends Church.
