University of St. Francis
After graduation, many classmates enrolled at St. Francis College to obtain associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, or/and master's degrees. Today, it still attracts many high school graduates.
In 1890, St. Francis College was established in Lafayette, Indiana. It relocated to Fort Wayne in 1944 and has continued to grow its student population and degree offerings. In 1998, It was renamed University of St. Francis. Today the university enrolls around 2,000 students and offers a graduate school, as well as a satellite school in Crown Point, Indiana.
Steve Heine, who attended Saint Francis College from 1963-1972, has submitted the following pictures he recently shot for your enjoyment.
Brookside Mansion
In the 60's and 70's Brookside Mansion was the library where student could study and attend classes. In 2006 the university engaged in a $5,000,000 renovation project and then converted it into the administrative building.
University of Saint Francis Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center
The above building was the Scottish Rite Auditorium where we held our senior prom. It is now the University of St. Francis Performing Arts Building.
Bonadventure Hall
Bonadventure Hall, an instructional Hall, has been remodeled.

Nursing School
In 1963 students attended nursing schools at all three local hospitals in Fort Wayne. As many other things, this practice has vanished. To meet the need of nursing degrees, many universities began offering nursing programs, and St. Francis joined the trend. Today it offers associate's to doctorate's degrees in nursing.
