Obituary

Leslie Ann Sample, 60, of Kendallville died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at her residence.

She was born July 18, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Richard and Mildred (Kessler) Shultz.

She had moved to this area eight years ago, coming from Fort Wayne and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Sample and her husband had started the Summit City Dart Association in Fort Wayne. She attended Messiah Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.

Leslie enjoyed camping at Circle B Campground near Angola and had been camping there for the last 30 years. She dearly loved her grandchildren, “family is forever”.

Surviving are a daughter, Rachel (Thomas) Smith of Fort Wayne; two sons, Richard Reed of Columbia City and Ben (Holly) Sample of Fishers; ten grandchildren, Joshua Reed, Emma Martinez, Alex Martinez, Isabella Martinez, Lilliana Martinez, Chloe Reed, Domitree Reed, Jackson Sample, Boston Sample, and Charlotte Sample; two sisters, Cyndi (Gary) Andrew of Wolcottville and Laura (Mike) Sellars of Orlando; and her significant other, Dan Salsbury of Riga, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leonard Sample on February 14, 2004.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in the Butler Cemetery.

Calling is Tuesday, January 16, 2018, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
