I received an email from the AHHS Class of 73 regarding the passing away of Bob King.

Bob was a great guy and I was very glad that we were friends!

I am so sorry that he passed away and my thoughts and prayers are with his family!

I would appreciate if any classmate has any information about Bob, if they would post it on Message Forum or message me.

Thanks, for the memories Bob! you will be missed, my friend!

Remember when anything "100" was ancient?... That said, Happy 65th Birthdays to our Class of '73!! (Holy Kamoly, how did we get to be that age so quickly??)

Dear Fellow Yellow Jackets,

Mike Amos' (aka Mikie Poo), sweet wife, Judy, called today to let me know that Mike has gone to Heaven. Many of you may recall that Mike had health issues over the years, and Judy has been an amazing source of contstant strength, care and love for Mike. He died early this morning of an apparent heart attack. And, with the crazy Corona Virus situation right now, Mike's memorial service will take place in the future. Judy promised to let me know and I'll update our Fellow Classmates of our AHHS Class of '73 when I know. When I asked Judy what she needed/how I could help, she asked that I post the news to Mike's AHHS Class.

While this is so sad, I can say from my heart, ya'll, let's brimg to mind the happy memories of our class shenanigans that we an also hold dear... how 'bout decorating the Baseball Boys' rooms in their homes before baseball games? And how fun it was for all of us to cheer on the AHHS baseball team - Mike, along with his bestie, Mike Childers... and Rob Wall...Buddy Sample...Jack Barber...Tommy Reiber...Gary Gibson...Tim Mann...Mark Julian... and the other two varsity players who are already in the Batters' Box in the sky, Bobby Smith and Randy Thomas.

Much love to all... hold those you love a little tighter today.  Hail the Gold and Hail the Blue...

Anne

Mack Mercer

Mike Amos

Mike and I enjoyed playing played a lot of baseball together. He was a speedy shortstop, with a broad range, who scooped  many a ground ball. His friendly grin and ready laugh were appreciated by his many friends on and off the diamond.

Last night, I visualized him in the movie,” Field of Dreams” where he walked from the diamond into the cornfield, and  was greeted by Coach Maclin, Coach Ramey, Bobby Smith, and many other mentors and friends.

Our Prayers  go out to his family.

Sincerely,

Mack Mercer and Patty Furey Mercer.
