Tracey Gay Nichols -Spartin

July 4, 1956- Oct 13, 2023.

The love of my life.

Tracey was one of the most loving, caring, generous , thoughtful ,selfless humans I had ever met. She had a way to make everyone she came into contact with, feel as if they were special. She cared deeply about everyone she loved. She was compassionate and caring about people she came into contact with in our everyday lives, from a store clerk to relative strangers. She would ask about their lives and was truly interested. She had an endearing quality of making you feel special , and truly loved and cared for; and call you honey, or sugar, or sweetheart.

She was one of the strongest people I knew both in spirit and sheer will. She was incredibly generous with her time and attention and thoughts. No matter what was going on with her, if you were in need, she was there for you to hold your hand, give you a hug, and be there to comfort you with her words. She would worry about others well being and always try to comfort and offer soothing words of encouragement . She would always apologize for putting you out if you were helping her in any and every situation. Others always came first.

She was fiercely independent and passionate about everything. She was a gifted and talented writer, artist, sister, daughter, wife and mother. She raised our beautiful daughter to be an amazing young woman with a beautiful soul ( just like her). She was incredibly proud of our daughter and would always build us up when we were down. She was our number one fan.

She touched all those in her life, and was the light of my life, my soulmate and my eternal beloved. She has left a huge hole in my heart but I will carry her with me forever. She had such a beautiful, radiant, carefree and loving spirit and had a way of lighting up a room with her presence. I was incredibly fortunate and lucky to be loved by her and the love she showed was truly unconditional.

When we were getting married and picked our wedding rings, the jeweler said that the rings perfectly fit together with hers inside mine; we were a perfect fit! We had them engraved together on the edges with the words,” my eternal beloved “.

She was my once in a lifetime person and I am so grateful for the time we had and I look forward to seeing her again. I miss her deeply. Our legacy was our daughter, Lark, who is the best of both of us. I see Tracey in my sweet, beautiful, loving , passionate, caring daughter and I am so thankful.

Rest in peace my love. You are my eternal beloved and I will always love you and be forever grateful and thankful for you. Tracey Spartin

I'm not real good at this but I will do my best. Firstly, my deepest sympathy to her family for your loss. Losing someone so close is so hard. I experienced it recently with the passing of my 96 yo mother in August. We would all be so lucky to live a long life. But Tracy Nichols Spartin, in the prime of life with a beautiful family, is just so hard to understand. I do not know the circumstances regarding her passing but I'll always remember her as a very dear friend. The last time I saw her was at our 40th reunion, and like every other time, our friendship never skipped a beat. From our adventures in high school, the infamous spring break trip to Port Aransas, and that last reunion we were together, she remained that beautiful, caring, and loving person she always was. You will be missed by all the people you touched. I feel privileged to have been touched by this angel. May you always rest in peace, Tracy!

My heart is broken.  Yes, every word Louis wrote is so true.

Tracey was such a beautiful person, inside and out.  I always thought she was the nicest person when I was at Heights. And then, when I saw her at the Reunion, I think 20th and 30th and 40th, she made me feel so special.  It made my day!

I loved Tracey.  Her generousity of spirit, her warmth, her caring, she was so special.

Her husband Louis is such a neat guy and I remember when Lark was a baby and Tracey and Louis were here visiting.  My heart is with you Louis and Lark, I am sending Angels to surround you all, and Tracey's sister and her family.

Such touching and heart-warming tributes about Tracey. She truly was a loving person. Such a loss.

Ya'll, we are so blessed by our special class of '73. I'm forever grateful for our collective friendships.

Here's to a lovely Thanksgiving this week and a joyous Holiday Season!  Anne
