I received the following email from Annabelle Weaver Smith. I felt it was worth sharing.
"I had to pull off the road on my way to work this morning and cry. I was listening to a local radio station, which I rarely turn on my car radio, and they were ending a song, which I didn't recognize but the DJ was talking to the gentleman who had requested the song. The man said he had requested the song to say thank you to Dutch, whoever that person was. When he had needed help it arrived with only a card that said "you have been Dutched". He said he and his wife were so grateful for that help when they needed it so badly. He never said his name, but I think it might be possible the young couple had taken in the wife's sister's kids after her sister could no longer care for them and he was working several jobs to pay rent/food and keep them in school. His car needed repairs and he had been riding a bicycle and hitching rides. He said he now could work only one job, as he had received a promotion and that full time position allowed him to help his wife with the kids and they could do things on the days he was off together. Dutch's mission is alive and working! Hope you are well and enjoying life. Annabelle"
I responded to Annabelle that indeed she was keeping Dutch's mission alive. What a wonderful story. And Dutch would be so pleased to know this.
