Doug Stitley

Douglas Lee Stitely passed away peacefully in his sleep after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer on April 11, 2026. He was the loving husband of Deborah A. Stitely for forty-three years. Together they have one daughter, Heather Leigh Arena married to Thomas J.Arena, and two grandchildren Allison Arena and Anthony Arena.

Doug worked for Korrell Construction for 26 years and Frederick Villas Apartments for the past 12 years. Doug enjoyed being with his family and was a very proud Poppy as he was named by his granddaughter Allison. He loved being outdoors and doing yard work for family and friends.

Doug is survived by his brother Richard Horner and wife Holly, his sister Cheryl Horner, and brother Kevin Stitely and partner Yvonne Yeakle along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his father Charles L. Stitely and his mother Doris I. Horner, his sisters, Debbie, Patricia, Joyce, Linda, and Donna. Doug will be fondly remembered by many, including his long-time friend Danny Hurst, his mother-in-law Patricia Owens, Kelly and Tony Toms and Shirley Krantz.

A visitation will be held on Thursday April 23rd from 5-8 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home located at 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, 21702. A service will be held the following day, April 24th at 11am at Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick, MD.
