Mr. Randall Eugene "Randy" Zimmerman, 54, of Lewistown died Monday, September 12, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. 

Born August 6, 1962, he was the son of Barbara and Emory Zimmerman of Lewistown. 

Randy was a 1980 Graduate of Gov. T.J. High School, where he played baseball and basketball. He was 1985 graduate of Frostburg State College, where he received a bachelor's degree in Physical Education.

At the time of his death, he was employed by Resource Manufacturing. Prior to that, he had been a longtime employee of Brian Contractors. 

Randy loved the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles and University of Maryland Terps. In earlier years, he played slow pitch softball, Frederick American Legion baseball, and was previously a basketball referee with IAABO Board 214.

In addition to his parents, Randy is survived by his son, Tyler Zimmerman of Grapevine, Texas; brother, Bruce Zimmerman (Sandy) of Walkersville; sister, Cindy Hannah (Tim) of Rohersville; nephew, Brett Zimmerman of Walkersville; nieces, Loni Henline (Josh) of Boonsboro, and Emily Zimmerman of Walkersville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, 

He was preceded in death by nephew, Timothy Hannah; and grandparents, Marion and Clinton Walker, and Halfdan and Virginia Mae Zimmerman. 

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A memorial service will begin at noon with Rev. Dahl Drenning officiating.

Interment will be private.

I give my condolences to the Zimmerman family. I remember Randy as a friendly nice guy in school.

He was a tough player to go up against in basketball and volleyball back when.  We worked together for two years straight out of HS at Frederick Trading Co.. He could make even the most boring task into fun and games. We had some good times looking back now maybe too crazy. May you rest in peace my TJ bro.
