Following graduation as an Honor Student from FHS, Barbara attended Nixon-Clay Business School in Austin. She married Roy Sedwick in February, 1968. In February, 1974, Barbara and Roy welcomed their son, Kevin Troy Sedwick, into their family. Barbara worked in Austin and the Lake Travis area and was a stay-at-home mom after Kevin was born. She enjoyed their home on Lake Travis, cooking, sewing, and crafts. She was also very active in her church. In December, 1991, the largest flood ever on Lake Travis forced them to vacate their home when the floodwaters engulged the entire first floor and reached above the second floor. This resulted in their move back to Austin. After years of battling diabetes, Barbara passed away on September 9, 2000. Unfortunately, she was unable to experience the joyous birth of her grandson, Tate Andrew Sedwick, born February 7, 2004, in Dallas.
