Travis was funny and kind. He was a joker in school, and he did not seem to take many things seriously. He was quiet and reserved but a really nice guy if you got to know him. In 2004 he and his Dad were in the Gulf of Mexico shrimping off the coast of Florida. Their boat caught fire while in the gulf and the cause of the fire is unknown. Another vessel saw the Eric H. on fire at 3:11am on the morning of Wednesday, October 6, 2004. The vessel immediately contacted the coast guard and they sent a search plane, two rescue helicopters, and two cutters to run over 20 grids over the Gulf in hopes of finding the men. Unfortunately, the men were never heard from again. Their bodies were never found either.
