Carolyn Farmer Driesbach, friend and confidante to family and hundreds of friends, possessor of radiance, the spark of any gathering, and master of wit, is now enjoying a painless eternity after bravely confronting her battle with a very progressive form of Multiple Sclerosis.
Carolyn is resting in peace as of Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Carolyn passed at home , surrounded by family and friends, along with her devoted and heroic duo, husband, Chuck Driesbach and daughter, Julie Farmer Hofle.
Carolyn was born to proud parents, O.C. Farmer and Mary Lou Day Farmer, on April 10, 1953. Carolyn enjoyed a happy childhood on the sunny Gulf Coast in Freeport.
Popular, pretty and smart, she was sought out as a friend by all who knew her. She delighted in occasions spent with friends and family the Farmer household was always filled with both.
Carolyn followed her parents’ example by opening her heart and home to all. Carolyn remained friends with childhood acquaintances her entire life and gathered new ones throughout adulthood wherever she was. Many friendships were formed during her tenure as Vice President at Torch Energy, along with her position as Director of Housing for The Texas Medical Center, and numerous social gatherings.
To know her was to love her. Her effervescence and infectious laugh stands out happily in the memories of all who knew her.
Carolyn’s greatest joy in life was the birth of daughter, Julie Camille Farmer. Carolyn and Julie shared an unbreakable bond and uncanny closeness. Julie, like her mother, is a ray of sunshine and vessel of love.
To complete her joy, she married the love of her life, Chuck Driesbach on September 15, 1990. Chuck is Carolyn’s soulmate, best friend and a remarkable man. Added blessings came in the form of grandchildren her special princess, Sabryn Lawrence and Kennady and Wyland Hofle.
Carolyn’s passing was preceded by her grandparents, William Frances and Mary Louise Day, O.C. Farmer Sr. and Kate Farmer her sweet mother, Mary Lou Farmer and her precious nephew, Reagan Farmer Cade. They are all undoubtedly enjoying one of Carolyn’s and Mary Lou’s favorite past times, card games and laughter.
Surviving family members are father, O.C. Farmer and his wife, Betty Farmerbrothers, Charles Farmer and children, Andrew and Lindsay Farmer, Stuart Farmer and wife, Kaye Farmerand sisters, Lou Ann Farmer, Susan Farmer Cade, husband, Rex Cade and their children, Chad Cade, Ryan Cade and wife, Kelli Bruce Cade, their children, Reagan, Miller and Logan, Mary Ashley Jimenez, husband, Alex Jimenez, their daughter, Marlee Jimenez. Also carrying on Carolyn’s legacy of light and love is her extraordinary daughter, Julie Farmer Hofle, husband, Steven Hoflegranddaughters, Sabryn Lawrence, Kennady Hofleand grandson, Wyland Hofle.
The family invites you to join them for Carolyn’s Celebration of Life Mass at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 100 Oak Drive South, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566, Friday, October 16, 2015, at 10:30 am. Lunch will be provided at the church hall after the service.
