Andria Diane Joiner was born April 24, 1953, to Lela Cole Joiner and Arvil Fred Joiner Sr. in Freeport Texas. She passed from this mortal life January 16, 2022, at Timpanogos Regional Medical Center in Orem Utah after battling complications from diabetes and Covid-19.
As the youngest of 6 children her birth was a surprise and yet still a great blessing to her family. Her father passed away when she was 6 years old, and she was a bright star for her mother during that time.
Her mother passed away when she was 17 years old and her oldest sister Shirley stepped-in to care for her after that.
She graduated from Brazosport High School in Freeport Texas May 27th, 1971.
In 1978 she moved to Kennewick Washington to be near her sisters Shirley and Flo. Her nieces, Penny and Amy, have fond memories of spending every Friday night at the apartment Shirley and Andria shared.
Andria was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings. Her favorite of which was teaching primary with the children. She made many close friends through her association in the Church, particularly among the missionaries serving in the area. Later in life she served in the office of the Mount Timpanogos Temple.
Andria worked in healthcare during her adult life. From floor secretary, billing department, office manager and coding consultant she enjoyed her work.
In 1996 she moved to Utah, and a year later Shirley moved to be with her. Amy’s children continued the Friday night sleepover tradition as the two sisters once again shared a home together, caring for each other until Aunt Shirley passed away in 2012.
It’s appropriate that the sisters now share the same final resting place after sharing a home for most of their lives. We are grateful for the knowledge they are reunited with family, friends and loved ones on the other side.
Andria is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Arvil Fred Joiner Jr. and Reddin Dale Joiner, and her sisters Shirley Lee Joiner and Bobby Rae Joiner (who died in infancy).
She is survived by her sister Camellia Flo Joiner Bright, brother-in-law Jan Bright, sister-in-law Caroline B Joiner and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who became family members.
A private graveside service will be held January 27, 2022 at 1:30 pm MT for family members. Please attend virtually by the attached Zoom link. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
