Memorial services for Carol Ann (Miler) Couey were held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Gillet officiated.

Carol Ann (Miller) Couey passed away in Fairfield, TX on Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born on September 22, 1953, in Delano, California, to Charles Branton & Doris Leota Miller, and moved to Texas with her family at the age of three. Carol spent her childhood and young adult years in the Houston and Freeport areas. She was a 1971 graduate of Brazosport High School and attended the University of Houston-Clear Lake studying environmental science. As an adult, she traveled the U.S. working in the pipeline industry as a safety consultant. Once her granddaughter was born, she chose to settle in Teague.

Carol is survived by her granddaughter, Alexandria (Lexi) Couey; two sisters, Vicki Koonce and Marie Sammons English; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Ms. Couey was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Jackson (J.J.) Couey; her parents, C. B. & Leota Miller; and two brothers, Butch Garcia and William Eugene (Bill) Miller.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to an animal shelter or animal rescue organization of your choice.
