Funeral service for Andrus Lee Edwards, 65, of Freeport will be Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1615 Skinner Street, Freeport, TX with Pastor Donnell Johnson eulogizing and Minister Horace Lemons officiating. Burial will follow at Gulf Coast Cemetery in Clute, TX.
He passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his residence.
He attended Agape Fellowship Church. He graduated in the Class of 1971 from Brazosport High School and was a member of ILA Local 30. He loved to cook, fish and crab. He was also the life of the party and a jokester.
He was preceded in death by his father; Van Randon Jr.; mother, Mary Ford; brother, John Porter; sisters, Edna Strauther and Joyce Love; and step-father, Leroy Ford.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his loving and devoted wife, Valerie Edwards, Freeport; son, Andrew Lee Goins (Brandy), Freeport; step-son, Kimrick Lewis (Amberlie), Houston; daughters, Andrea Goins (Byron), Jones Creek and LaNika Goins, Freeport; stepdaughters, Melquita Lewis, Freeport and Charde Lewis, Jones Creek; goddaughter, Nicole Bryant, Freeport; brothers, Roy Edwards (Sandra), of Freeport and Derek Porter (Tonya), of Virginia; sisters, Jeanetta Alston (John Henry), Freeport, Patricia Collier (Moran), Brazoria, Jeretta Crain, Michelle Randon, Yolanda Porter and Shawn Porter, all of Houston; brothers-in-law, Valance Lewis (Marie), Angleton, and Orlando Lewis, Freeport; and other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Burton, Timothy Hill, Paul Goins, Toric Goins, Michael White and Mallon James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Parson, John H. Alston, Herbie Love, Previn White, Ralph Edwards, Quinton Bell, ILA Local 30 and Brazosport Class of 1971.
Visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. There will be viewing at the church on the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. There will be no viewing afterward.
