John Caouette

Caouette, John Peter of Juneau, Alaska and formerly Minneapolis. Age 46. Died suddenly 10/12/10. Preceded in death by brother, Peter Joseph. Survived by wife, Rebecca Braun; daughter, Rosie, 8 and son, Alder, 2; mother, Mary (Tom) Gorzycki, father Leo (Millie) Caouette; sisters, Therese and Julie and brother, Paul Caouette; in-laws, Peter and Linda Braun as well as many nieces and nephews. John was a playful and intensely loving person who prized his family, friends and community above all else. John worked as a statistician for The Nature Conservancy and was passionate about trees, mapping, and gaining insight into forest processses. He loved the outdoors--running, biking, peak- bagging and playing hockey on frozen lakes, especially with children and beginners. He will be deeply missed by his large and loving family and the community of Juneau. Funeral service Saturday 1 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave. South, Minneapolis. Visitation one hour prior to service. Memorial in Juneau October 23. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to John Caouette Memorial Fund, c/o Juneau Community Foundation, 350 N.
