Steve was a terrific friend with a dry sense of humor.
Because he was modest and out of the limelight, many of our classmates did not know that Steve was one of the best natural all-around athletes in our class. He was the #1 tennis player. In our senior year (and perhaps earlier too), Steve was the only tennis player at FUHS never defeated by anyone on the team--and he didn't even own a raquet (he always borrowed one of the spaghetti-stringed regular PE raquets.) Had he run track or cross country, he would have cleaned up (although he couldn't out sprint Clem Crum.) Only Rick Van Tuyle could throw a ball further.

He is missed by those of us who knew him!
