Dean became ill and then passed away on April 17, 2010 at the age of 62. He was living in Placentia and was survived by his wife of 34 years, Sue, son Jason, and daughter Melissa. Dean, according to those who knew him and worked with him, almost always had a smile on his face and was very kind... the same as he was in high school.Rest in heaven Dean.
Dean was a smiling friend of mine. We knew each other with our hello and nod of recognition. He was very shy easy to talk to because I talked and he listened. But we knew each other only by understanding and in passing. I din't even recognize him at the 40th reunion until he introduced himself, "Amee, its Dean Kinoshita". I felt a little embarrassed. All those smiles, all those years. He was to be the first person I would look for at the 50th reunion. I was going to greet him with a great big hello. But it wasn't to be as I read his name, first and last, in the "in memoriam" section. It made me so sad that I didn't get to smile at my old, sweet friend, Dean Kinoshita. So I will smile right now, right now as I write, "Good morning, Dean, RIP."
