John Woodrow Linton passed away February 2 ,1999 from complication from a surgery! John was the son of Woody and Betty Linton. He had one sister, Katie Linton Gransee of Yorba Linda,California. I believe he was married once briefly. He attended USC after high school . He was living in Oceanside at the time of his death and had worked for a major airline. I met John when his family moved from Pacific Palisades to Fullerton. He was very active in the DeMolay in Yorba Linda during his high school years! He was one great and loving man!
John Linton was a dear friend of mine. I will always remember John as a friend who was at all times funny, dry-witted, enthusiastic, merry-hearted, feisty, independent, persistently loyal to his friends....he was all these things.
John was a great guy and a friend of mine from Junior high in the Pacific Palisades. Our Dads worked for the same company and our Moms played bridge together. Both of our families moved to Fullerton about the same time. It was hard to start a new school not knowing anyone and then I saw John and his big smile near freshman corner and I knew all would be okay. John was like a brother to me. In the past few years I have been looking for John on the Internet to reconnect. I am really sad that he is gone. God bless you John. I miss you.
