Carmen Martin Klug

October 1, 1957 - January 4, 2024

Sarah Carmen Martin Klug, 66, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. Carmen was born October 1, 1957, in Sanford, NC to Roy B. and Grace Jones Martin. 

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, son Brandon Stotesbury, stepdaughter Heather Klug and sister-in-law Sheila Klug Cote. 

FVHS classmates may remember that Carmen had an older sister, Gwyn. The Martins lived just off Highway 401 North near fellow classmates Jean Cotten and Sylvia Honeycutt. Carmen and Gwen were first cousins with Frank, David, Camille, Jane and Amy West (also FVHS folks). And although I'd known Carmen since we were in Miss Watson's 1st grade class, I only recently learned that Carmen was my 4th cousin through her daddy and my grandmother Ragan's family. Our class continues to be such a small world, even when we move far away.

Carmen is survived by her husband Robert 'Bob' Klug; sister Gwyn Martin Russell of Hillsborough, NC; grandsons Warren and Blake Stokesbury of Fairview, NC, Julius and Gabe Salcedo, and Aiden Klug of Louisville, KY; mother-in-law Gladys Klug; brothers-in-law Howard Klug and Jim Klug of Williston, ND and Lorin Klug of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A graveside service was held at Middle Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
