Keith Donald Allen

Keith Donald Allen was the son of Donald E. and Janet Overby Allen. He was the second of four children: Diane, Keith, Ronald and Karen. Theirs was a military family - Keith was born in Fort Bragg, NC. The family lived in Fuquay during his father's 2 tours of duty in Vietnam; the second tour was when Keith was in high school with us, freshman and sophomore years.  I will never forget Keith's smile! His sister Diane shared several family photos, and that smile never changed after all those years.

After sophomore year, Keith moved to Miami, then to New Orleans, where he worked on oil rigs in the Gulf and learned industrial / contract painting. From there he moved to Greenville, NC, where his son was born (in 1983). He then moved to Hilton Head, SC, where he had his own paint contracting business. Later he moved back to Fayetteville, NC. Keith died unexpectedly in August of 1991, sadly leaving a 7 year old son. 

When I started on this project it was 'data collection' - merely looking for classmates who had spent some time with us in high school. While I have re-initiated some wonderful friendships along the way, Keith's death in particular left me very sad; he was a vibrant soul. I'm glad to know he is at some level at peace.
