I'm alive, well, and have been living in MI for the last 17 years. I can't believe it. It wasn't really my idea to move here and I was more/less dragged kicking and screaming from Atlanta in 1993. About five minutes after getting here, we learned we were expecting twins so the whole time has pretty much been a blur.
I am a consultant. A long time ago, Laura Bennett asked me exactly what that meant and I asked her "Remember how much I used to like to tend to other people's business?" Strangely, without hesitation, she said she did. Hummm. Well, people pay me to do that now. Weird. Who knew you could make a living that way?
So, now I have two very lovely teenaged daughters who think that I was in high school so very long ago I couldn't possibly know anything about anything. I suspect many of you know how that is. They will be juniors this year and are starting to think about where they may want to go to college. I'm excited that they decided independently that they want to go south. While I'm not excited about paying out of state tuition, I am excited at the prospect that I won't have to return to MI in my old age to visit them. If they leave the tundra, surely they'll stay down south. Who is their right mind would live there and then move here? Wait...anyway.. I introduced them early on to the delicacies that are Chick Fil A sandwiches and decent peaches...neither of which are available here.
I hope to see a lot of you at the reunion.
