Cindy Sue Anderson, Abingdon Chapel
48 of 913 Ellison St. died at 1:20 pm Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on March 16, 1956 in Galesburg to Raymond F. and Sharon K. Hartman Armstrong. She married Steven C. Anderson on April 28, 1990 at the Orange Chapel Church, rural Maquon, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jason C. Brown of Abingdon, Shannon C. Brown of Galesburg and Mark C. Brown in the US Navy stationed in San Diego, CA; her mother, Sharon K. Baughman of Galesburg, her father, Raymond F. Armstrong of Galesburg; her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Bonnie Jean Hartman of Galesburg; three brothers, Jerry R. (and Jennifer) Armstrong of Rapid City, SD, Mark Armstrong and Ron Armstrong both of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Spencer Dawson, Aaron Lambin, and Abbey Lambin.
She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1974. She had lived most of her adult life in Abingdon. She had worked in Group Homes for the Mentally Disabled in Galesburg and was a home healthcare provider for several area families.
She was of the Christian Faith.
She was a volunteer for several years for the Abingdon Fourth of July Committee. She also helped organize several benefits for local families in need due to illnesses or tragedies.
She was a member of the Harry E. Wiles American legion Post #381 Auxiliary in Abingdon.
She was an Organ Donor through the Gift of Hope organ donor program.
Services will be at 1:00 pm Sunday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon. Rev. Danny Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Saturday at the chapel.
A memorial fund will be established.
