GALESBURG, IL - Marc A. White, 52, of 1451 Conger St., Galesburg, IL departed this life at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his home.

He was born on September 3, 1955 in Galesburg to Wayne and Helen Schneider White. He had been married to Julie Newburgh.

He is survived by his mother, Helen White of Galesburg; a daughter, Jennifer (and Matt) Rice of Oquawka, IL; two brothers, Nick (and Linda) White of Knoxville, IL and Jeffrey (and Miho) White of Lake Elsinore, CA; a good friend, Chris Mach, who shared his home and one grandson, James.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne White, on January 21 1995.

He worked for Dick Blick Art Materials for 28 years. He was a 1974 graduate of Galesburg High School. He was a member of Central Congregational Church. He was an avid pool and dart player, belonging to various leagues over the years.
He was a free spirited, kind and compassionate man who was loved by all. He was always a helping hand whenever anyone needed aid, moving or repairs. He will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Tom Heather officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Chapel. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials may be made to the Guardian Angel Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
