James David Elmore VIEW PROFILE

James D. “Dave” Elmore, 64, of Abingdon, died on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Arrangements are pending and have been entrusted with Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville.

Dave was born on March 13, 1956 in Galesburg. He was the son of J.D. and Mary (McDorman) Elmore. Dave is survived by his daughters, Misty Elmore of Galesburg and Stacéy Elmore of Abingdon; his parents; sister, Christina McCann of North Henderson; grandson, Jeremiah Jennings of Galesburg; and adopted daughter, Rhonda Colwell of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Tina Clark, together they spent 32 years together; and his grandparents, Hoyt (Deloris Cook) Elmore and William (Zelma) McDorman.

Dave attended Galesburg schools. He was a laborer at Butlers Manufacturing. Dave was a member Road to Freedom Church, Galesburg, where he was baptized on June 23rd, 2019. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and loved his animals. Dave was “stuck in the 70’s,” stubborn, supportive, and loved life. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.

“I’m home at the river now.”
