In Memory

Ann O'Donnell

Ann Nonette O'Donnell, 24, sacrificed everything to help others.

Officer O'Donnell died Friday morning, December 24, 2010 in Houston as she responded to a reported kidnapping in progress. En route, her police patrol car veered off the roadway and struck a tree, ending her life within minutes of the collision.

Ann's commitment was to treat everyone fairly because she believed that justice should be leavened with mercy, and that a good police officer's responsibility is to help as well as to enforce.

Her proudest accomplishment was obtaining in 2009 her Texas Peace Officer's license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. She was employed for the past 13 months with the Department of Public Safety on the main campus of the University of Houston, where her radio designation was Unit 429.

Ann will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, compassion, and kindness.

She attended Trinity Episcopal School and Ball High School in Galveston, Galveston College and the University of Houston.
