FALLBROOK- A man who leapt to his death off the Lilac Road bridge over Interstate 15 on Saturday was identified by the San Diego County medical examiner as 58-year-old Kenneth Bruggeman of Oceanside.
A Dear Springs Fire Protection District firefighter who responded to the incident said Bruggeman jumped off the top of the rented moving van in order clear the high fence along the side of the tall bridge.
"When we got to the scene, he was lying on the right shoulder of southbound I-15," where he had apparently landed, said Isaac Sanchez, a Deer Springs engineer.
Traffic was delayed briefly while law enforcement officers and paramedics responded, he said.
A spokesman for the San Diego Sheriff's Department said deputies from the Fallbrook substation responded to the call, but by the time they arrived Bruggeman was dead.
No one was able to contact Bruggeman before he jumped, and there was no note or any other immediate indication of why he killed himself, the spokesman said.

Sorry to heard about Kenny passing away, Went through school with him starting at Lincoln and then GGHS. The last time I saw him was at an accountinf firm in Long Beach about 1972.
