Welcome to the memorial page for
JoAnn Reynolds-Ulibarri
August 8, 2016
JoAnn Katheryn Reynolds-Ulibarri, a true “California Girl”, she was born and raised in the sunny state. Her father served in WWII and continues to be the honorable man that she emulated in the strength of her heart and in the thunder of her voice, as she refused to be walked on. Her mother was a beauty, a devoted and loving woman, and these nurturing qualities were reflected onto us, by my own mother.
So much comprised the woman that we called mom, that he called sweetheart, and that many just lovingly called Jody. She was a woman of intermittent and contagious laughter, a woman of great endurance, a fighter of discrimination and prejudice, a dealer of quips and an endless supplier of love.
When we talk about memories, that is the one golden thread that we all share with this classically beautiful and charismatic lady. Memories of her likes, and dislikes; memories of her mannerisms and of the flow that carried her through life. She cared deeply for each person with whom she came in contact; their plight was her plight, and the burden of their struggles, she shared.
In all that she “was”, for this word is indicative of the past, there are also many things that she will be… She will be loved. She will be thought of often. She will be missed. She will always be a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend.
“I feel as if I had opened a book and found roses of yesterday sweet and fragrant, between its leaves.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of the Island
