Soda Springs, Idaho… Charlotte Summers, 82 passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from respiratory complications. Charlottle, or “Char” to her friends and family, was born on June 13, 1943, in Tremonton, Utah, daughter of Ruel and Lucille Robbins. Char was baptized a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a graduate of Bear River high School, class of 1960.
Char married Dave Summers, also from Tremonton, in 1961. Together they moved to Soda Springs, Idaho to begin a new life. She immediately began making friends, which led to an active lifestyle of golfing, water skiing, bowling, playing softball and snowmobiling, all while raising her two sons. But her passion since youth was dancing — no prodding necessary to get her on the dance floor. In fact, she rarely needed a dance floor. She could dance anywhere and often did. She also had talent for the stage as she participated in local plays, such as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Guys and Dolls, and Hello Dolly. At the drop of a hat, Char could change from dance shoes to cowboy boots. She loved the outdoors — camping, hunting and fishing, with Marv Daniels and friends. Char loved animals. She was rarely without one of her “kids,” who provided her with companionship and conversation. She loved her friends, and she had many. Strangers became friends, and friends became family.
Charlotte is survived by her 2 sons: Todd of North Salt Lake, Utah and Greg (Sherri) of Grantsville, Utah, and her beloved 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Sisters Darlene Wise Cannon of Tremonton, Utah and Peggy (Wayne) Richardson of Hurricane, Utah. She is proceeded in death by her parents and brother Sterl.
A Day of Celebration for Charlotte is scheduled for May 16th in Soda Springs, Idaho. More details will be provided forthwith.
