CHAPIN - A memorial service for Laura Jane Clark of Chapin will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013, at Chapin Presbyterian Church, 600 Old Lexington Highway, with a visitation from 10-11:30 a.m. at the church. A private service will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Laura passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at the age of 74. She was born in Fredricksburg, VA, and raised in Greenville, SC. She attended Chapin Presbyterian Church, was an active member of Timberlake Country Club and was an avid participant of many social activities of the club.

She was the daughter of the late Frederick "Bob" Benchoff and Gertrude Lafoy, and preceded in death by a brother, Ronald "Ronnie' Benchoff. She is survived by her husband, John C. Clark; children, Susan Roche, Jeffrey Blanton, Charles "Chuck" E. McClure, Jr., Rodney A. McClure, John Chris Clark, Cindy L. Hodge, Carrie D. Martin; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Benchoff.
