Margaret Rose Dickerson (Irvin)

Margaret Rose Dickerson Irvin, 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Born in Gaston County on December 4, 1938, Mrs. Irvin was the daughter of the late Charlie Hugh Dickerson and Margaret Lowe Dickerson. For 38 years, Mrs. Irvin served as a registered nurse and retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was a longstanding member of Maylo United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Irvin was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Massey.

Mrs. Irvin is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ken Irvin; son, Scott Irvin of Gastonia; daughter, Kendra Schaffner of Gastonia; grandchildren, Hunter Raxter, Holden Raxter and Olivia Irvin; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris Ervin of Gastonia and Charlene and Lloyd Allmond of Lowell.

Family and friends of Mrs. Irvin are invited to attend her visitation beginning at 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM Saturday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in Founders Chapel. Rev. Jim King will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace at Gaston Memorial Park.

Margret was such a wonderful person. We had a lot of good times in school. She always had a smile to give to everyone. I send my love and blessing to her family. God bless and be with you and you comfort at this. She will always be with you, in your hearts.
