Carolyn Smith Riddle, 82, of Kings Mountain, passed away June 28, 2023, at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

She was born February 9, 1941, in Gaston County, daughter of the late John Chapman and Mabel Allen Chapman.

Carolyn loved her church and church family at Midview Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. She also loved gospel music.

She enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

In her younger days she would cook and have many of her friends over for fellowship.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Midview Baptist Church 703 Margrace Road in Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Michael Rice.

The family will receive friends 10-11 am at the church on Saturday.

Interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Darryl McLeymore (Nina), Jeffrey McLeymore (Wendy); grandchildren, Brandy Tippins, Justin, Dakota, Eric and Blake McLeymore, Kallie Frazier; five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a son, Johnny McLeymore; husband, Leonard Smith; special friend, Bob Bell; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Gus Lara.
