Melvyn Fox - November 28, 2008

CHARLOTTE - Melvyn Michael Fox, 67, formerly of Gastonia, died Nov. 28, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews.

He was born in Gastonia, son of the late Julius and Vera Simon Fox.

He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA degree in Political Science and attended the University of North Carolina School of Law. He was a former member of Temple Emanuel of Gastonia, Gastonia Jaycees, Gaston Country Club, member of American Contract Bridge League, where in 1982 he became a Life Member in Bridge. He was formerly associated with Gurney Industries, Gastonia and Winton Diamonds, Charlotte.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Rixon Fox,; one son, Andrew Fox and wife Sasha of Manhattan, N.Y.; one daughter, Nicole Fox-Lam and husband Scott of Seattle, Wash.; three stepdaughters, Patricia Magee and husband Patrick, Joan Wilson, Caroline Wilson, all of Charlotte; one brother, Dale Fox and wife Lyn of Gastonia; three grandchildren, Jack Fox, Sam Fox of Manhattan, N.Y. and Mason Lam of Seattle, Wash.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Section of Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with Dr. Charles Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service.
