Obituary
David Dennis Kafitz, Sr., 78, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born in Lima, Ohio on September 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Helen Neiswander Kafitz and Theodore Kafitz.
David was a veteran of the US Air Force and received an associate’s degree from Gaston Community College. He worked as a systems analyst for computers at Colbond in Asheville, NC and as a foreman manager for Hyman Young Greenhouses. He loved woodworking and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Kafitz.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Paula Young Kafitz, whom he married on August 13, 1966; sons, Tim Kafitz (Stephanie) of Salisbury, David Dennis Kafitz, Jr. of Columbia, SC; sister, Carole Purdy of Kilmarnock, VA; grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, Emma and Kate Kafitz.
A service will be held at a later date.

David and joined the Air Force together. We're in boot camp together . As years passed we lost contact with each other. Our times together were great. Condolences to his family and friends! My his eternal journey be as great as his stay on this earth.

I remember the day so well that David escaped from his hip/leg sling that he was in for quite a ling time at Central School. Was so happy for him and know that he must have had a wonderful life, judging from Freddie's comments.
