Brenda Cox Simon, 68, of Gastonia, died July 14, 2009 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas. She was a native of Gastonia, daughter of the late Carroll John and Brannon Lee Cox and the loving wife of Robert L. Simon.

Mrs. Simon was retired from Red Valve, Inc. as a shipping manager. She was a very talented artist. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: Mark Cox of Gastonia, Lee and Christi Dixon of Belmont and Billy and Tammy Rhom of Gastonia, grandchildren: Jordan Cox, Dillon Dixon, Brie Dixon, Grayson Dixon, Parker Dixon and Matthew Rhom, sisters: Celia Jones of Gastonia and Jane Cox of Charlotte, brother: Charles R. Cox of Gastonia.

She was preceded in death by brother: Daniel L. Cox and granddaughter: Taylor Rhom.

A Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 PM, Friday at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

Visitation will be from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Friday prior to the service.
