 GASTONIA - Gordon Pearson, 75, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
Born in Gaston County, he was the son of the late M. Lester Pearson and Grace Falls Pearson.
A graduate of Ashley High School, Mr. Pearson was a retired 35 year employee with Duke Power. For 42 years, he served as a volunteerfirefighter with the Chapel Grove Fire Department where he was a former fire chief. An avid watcher of the television program "Gunsmoke", Mr. Pearson was a lifelong member of Pisgah ARP Church where he served as an elder, deacon, usher and Sunday school superintendant. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Pearson is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Claudette Lynn Pearson; sons, Michael Gordon Pearson and wife, Sharon, and David M. Pearson and wife Denise, all of Gastonia; grandchildren, CPL Jonathan Pearson, USMC, Hunter Pearson, Kelsie Pearson, Jacob Pearson and Madison Pearson; sister Ann Teague and husband, Robert of Gastonia; a niece and a nephew.
Family and friends of Mr. Pearson are invited to attend his visitation beginning at 1 until 2:30 p.m. Friday at Pisgah ARP Church with his funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Richard Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pisgah ARP Church, 3600 Linwood Road, Gastonia, NC 28052.
