GASTONIA - Judith "Judy" Fowler, 72, passed away Feb. 6, 2012, at her residence, Meadowwood Nursing Center.

She was born Dec. 8, 1939, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Dan Edwin and Marie Scott Ponder.

Mrs. Fowler was the youngest Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Linda Pineo.

Interment is private.

She is survived by her sister, Millie Cocker; nephews, David, Mike, Dan and Bill Spurrier.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Leonard Leon Fowler.
