GASTONIA - William Jerry Pritchett, 67, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Bill died peacefully at home surrounded by family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Varna Byrd Pritchett, as well as his sisters, Barbara Harbin and Joyce Dills and brother Raymond Pritchett.

Bill is survived by his wife of forty years Amelia and their two daughters, Amy and Jamee, both of Gastonia.

He is also survived by his son Bill Jr. and wife Cindy of Mt. Holly; his brother Randy and wife Sheila as well as various nieces and nephews and two granddogs Buster and Elle. Bill, a BellSouth retiree, was a loving husband, an amazing father and everyone's favorite Santa.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, Gastonia. The family will receive friends in the church parlor immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215, or Gaston Hospice, P.O.
