Gus Ellis Scott passed away on December 6, 2005 in Gastonia, N.C.
He was survived by his wife, Rose, his loving son, Jeff and his beloved mother, Ruby Pearl Scott. Also, his sisters Carol Scott and Vicky S. Burns; brothers, Larry and Mike. All of Gastonia.
(Ironically, his mother passed away on December 2, 2007.)
Gus began his work career at Public Service Company. After a number of years, he went to work for Western Electric Company-Installation (Gastonia) then tranferred to Southern Bell later to become BellSouth, from which he retired.

My husband, Lamar, and I were long-time friends of Gus and they spent many Saturday afternoons playing pinball and partaking of a cool beverage at the Meadowbrook in S.C. (anyone remember the Meadowbrook?)Since I was a co-worker of Gus at Western Electric-Installation, Gastonia (and later at BellSouth), our families joined in many week-end cookouts, beach trips and sports events. Sometimes we were joined by other co-worker families. Our children (Jeff and Laura) grew up together and played many video and board games and sports.
We all miss Gus and think of him often.
