Kay Allen
December 5, 1953 - February 4, 2022
Gastonia, North Carolina - PSALM 73:24-26 "You guide me with your counsel and afterward you will take me into glory. Who have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Bobbie Kay Allen, born Dec. 5, 1953, in Charlotte, NC entered her eternal home February 4, 2022. Upon graduation from Ashbrook High School in 1972, Kay continued her education, graduating from UNC CHARLOTTE with a BA in Sociology and minor in Anthropology. Using her extraordinary communication skills, Kay was a devoted professional during her career in the financial industry and she never met a stranger!
Kay loved music and one of her greatest joys was singing with her sisters as her mother played the piano. She inherited a passion for animals from her dad and lovingly cared for many kittens throughout the years. Trips to the mountains and the beach were always a treat as long as she knew her kitten was in good care.
Kay's love of family and friends knew no boundaries. Her parents, Mary and Bob Allen, provided unconditional love and support for Kay as she traversed many mental health crises; and Kay never missed an opportunity to express her gratitude. A strong faith environment which Mary and Bob fostered sustained her.
Kay moved to Brookdale New Hope Assisted Living earlier this year where she was thriving. This transition was eased thanks to Ms. Teresa Childers who became her "angel". Her family is thankful for the care and compassion they provided.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Mary Allen, sister Judy Allen Miles, and nephew Brent Allen Williams. Surviving Kay are her sisters Janet (Walter Kellogg), Novelyn (Jim Williams), Angela (Roddy Yates); nieces Christin Allen Hambacher, Lindsey (Firas Bukhari); Emily (Matt Stankus); nephew, Edward Garin Hyde; great nephews, Zachary Leo Bukhari, Jack Henry Stankus and great niece MaryJames-Noel Bukhari and her fluffy feline companion Torie.
A service to celebrate the life of Bobbie Kay will be held at 3PM Monday February 14, 2022 at McLean Funeral Directors Gastonia, NC followed by a receiving of friends.
If one desires, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, 190 East Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052 or the Gaston Low Cost Spay /Neuter Clinic, 425 West Franklin Blvd. Gastonia, N.C. 28052.
