Dr. Randy Holland, 54, of Gastonia, died June 12, 2009 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Wilmington, NC but raised since age 4 in Gastonia, the son of the late William S. "Bill" Holland and Doris Smith Holland. He attended Gastonia schools and was a graduate of UNC-Chapel, where he received a B.S. degree in biology and a B.A. degree in psychology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He was a partner with Gaston Eye Associates since 1997, operating the Dallas office. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Gastonia since 1982 and was a member of Myers Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed riding motorcycles with his close friends.
Survivors in addition to his mother of Gastonia, is his wife of 34 years Denise White Holland; daughters, Kelly Holland of Fort Mill, S.C. and Brandy Holland of Ft. Mill, S.C. & fiancé Steven Powers, and a precious grandson, Jackson Kopasz of Fort Mill, S.C.
