Richard Barry Johnson

CHESAPEAKE - Richard Barry Johnson, 60, of the 100 block of Esplanade Place, went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2005 in Chesapeake. A native of Gastonia, NC, he was the son of Mrs. Ruby King Johnson of Chesapeake and the late Herbert Dennis Johnson. For the past 31 years, he was the owner and operator of Johnson's RV Service Center in Norfolk. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk. A tireless learner and not afraid of any challenge, his many interests included motorcycles, boats, stock-car racing, and camping. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kimille "Kim" Adair Johnson; two sons, Richard Glen "Ricky" Johnson and his fiancée, Susan Sheppard and Jamie Michael "Slick" Johnson and his fiancée, Donna Howell, all of Chesapeake; one stepdaughter, Kristin Grace Stanley Hooker and her husband, John; and one stepson, Jeffrey O'Neal, Neal Stanley, all of Virginia Beach; five granddaughters, Chelsea Sheppard, Brianna Johnson, Courtney Pyles, Kendal Johnson, and Karsen Johnson; seven grandsons, Mykell Stanley, Zachary Johnson, Ryan Sheppard, Kristopher Stanley, Austin Stanley, Johnny Hooker, and Brandon Stanley; two sisters, Patricia Greer and her husband, Lewis of Louisburg, NC and Lynn Southall of Chesapeake; one brother, Stanley Johnson and his wife, Patty of Chesapeake; dear friends, Simon and Sherry Keim; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends who were touched by knowing him.
